Marine HVAC For Boats Up to 24 Meters (80 Feet)

Split-gas marine HVAC systems have the condensing unit and air handler installed in different locations.
  • The condensing unit is mounted in the engine room or other mechanical space.
  • The air handler (also called the evaporator) is installed in the living area. Two air handlers can connect to one condensing unit
Split systems are found on boats up to 24 meters (80 feet), limited only by the number of condensing units that will fit and by the 15 meter (50 foot) maximum length of copper tubing between the condensing unit and air handler.
  • Less space needed in the living area for the air handlers.
  • Quieter because the compressor is in the engine room.
  • A wide selection of air handler types.

CS Series Condensers

CS Series Condensers

With High-Efficiency Compressors

The CS series of condensing units provide heating and cooling ability in a highly efficient package.

The hermetically sealed, high-efficiency compressor reduces amp draw, while pressure switches, thermal-overload, and start components provide constant system protection and proper operation.

The symmetrical base design provides optimum space efficiency and installataion flexibility for easy handling and positioning of the unit. Two sets of vibration isolators ensure quiet operation.
  • High-efficiency system with reduced amp draw.
  • Capacities from 6,000 to 60,000 BTU/hr
  • Valves and switches provide load balancing and constant system protection.
  • Symmetrical base for installation flexibility and ease of handling.
  • Remote-mountable, moisture-resistant and corrosion-resistant electrical box.
  • Passport I/O circuit board included in electrical box of CSD systems.
  • Factory pre-charged, tested, and leak-checked prior to shipping.
  • Meets or exceeds all applicable standards and regulations.

EBE Series R-410A Evaporators

EBE Series R-410A Evaporators

The New Standard In High-Performance Evaporators

Compact EBE split evaporators are draw-through, ductable cooling units with reverse-cycle heating.

Featuring a rotatable, high-efficiency permanent split capacitor (PSC) blower in which the motor is concealed, EBE series evaporators are available in capacities from 6K to 36K BTU/hr.

EBHE units have electric heat. The EBE Series was designed for installation low in a closet, cabinet, or other enclosed space, with discharge air ducted to one or more grilles high in the cabin.
  • Compact, ductable cooling or heating units
  • Rotatable, variable speed blower
  • Insulated condensate pan with anti-slosh, anti-fungal foam lining
  • High-efficiency blower with internal motor for reduced depth
  • Designed for use with Emerald series R-410A condensers
  • Air filter included
  • Electric heat available (EBHE models)
  • High-efficiency evaporator coil
  • Larger blower inlet for increased air flow across the coil
  • Blower bracket with cushioned mounts to reduce noise and vibration
  • Increased metal thickness on structural parts for added strength
  • Thermal expansion valve for optimal performance over a range of conditions

EFD Series Evaporating Units

EFD Series Evaporating Units

With Quiet & Efficient Blowers

This direct expansion air handler has a compact modular design. For maximum efficiency, the plenum chambers are increased and the coils have enhanced fins and rifled tubing.

The centrifugal blowers are quiet and efficient with fully insulated housings. For installation flexibility, the blower rotates to horizontal or vertical positions.

Thermoplastic mounting rings enable easy installation of ducting or transition boxes. The condensate drain pan includes two 1/2" FPT drain hook-ups, and is insulated to prevent sweating.
  • Models available in 4K, 6K, 9K, 12K, and 16K BTU/hr (115V and 230V), as well as 18K, and 24K BTU/hr (230V only).
  • Compact modular design with increased efficiency.
  • Easy disassembly for component access.
  • Quiet, efficient blowers rotate to vertical or horizontal positions.
  • Insulated drain pan prevents sweating and includes two ½" FPT drain hook-ups.
  • Factory pre-charged, tested, and leak-checked prior to shipping.
  • Meets or exceeds all applicable standards and regulations.

TurboVap DX Evaporator Series

TurboVap DX Evaporator Series

Reduced Size, Noise & Amperage

The TurboVap Series of direct expansion (DX) split-system evaporators is based on the revolutionary engineering advancements of the award-winning Turbo self-contained air conditioning system.

Featuring a rust-free molded composite drain pan, condensate water is rapidly removed at one of two easy-to-plumb drain locations. The pan also has innovatively designed anti-slosh ridges and positive-flow channels to ensure condensate does not spill even in the roughest seas.

TurboVap evaportors work with R-417A, R-22, and Emerald R-410A condensers.
  • Up to 28% reduced amperage.
  • Up to 85% reduction of standing water in the drain pan.
  • Up to 14% increase in cooling capacity.
  • Up to 15% reduced weight.
  • Up to 17% reduction in height.
  • Up to 19% increased air flow CFM.
  • Positive-flow, anti-slosh, rust-free drain pan ensures condensate does not spill.
  • Installation time reduced by 15 minutes.
  • Single screw for 270 degree blower rotation.
  • No blower-motor overhang reduces depth.
  • Vibration-isolation mounting system reduces noise.

Central Systems Split systems, also known as central systems, are normally used on vessels in the 45 to 75 foot range. Marine Air split systems run more quietly than most and keep noise levels to a comfortable minimum. Our central system condensing units are available in a range of capacities from 6,000 to 60,000 BTUs, and in both reverse cycle heat/cool and cool-only models. Complementary air handlers are also available from 4,000 to 48,000 BTUs.

Smaller Systems 6,000-16,000 BTU Large Multi ton Systems 24,000-60,000 BTU Central Systems
Central Systems direct expansion evaporators are used in conjunction with central condensing units. Other evaporator units include:
  • FLYBRIDGE Evaporator units.
  • SHORT PLENUM MULTI-TON Evaporator

The 1987 Montreal Protocol calls for the gradual phase-out of ozone-depleting substances by 2010, including the R-22 gas traditionally used in marine air conditioning systems. Our engineers have been testing alternative "green gas" products for more than three years and we have products available.
