Marine Air's chilled water air conditioning systems consist of the chiller, located in the engine room, that cools (or heats) fresh water, then pumps it through an insulated piping loop to air handlers located in the living spaces, where the air is cooled (or heated).

Chilled water A/C systems are ideal for boats over 24 meters (80 feet). The advantages of a chilled water A/C system are:

Staged Chilled Water (SCW) chillers are available in capacities ranging from 48,000 (4 ton) to 1,080,000 (90 ton) BTU/hr. SCWs are available in single- or three-phase, 50Hz or 60Hz, and all standard voltages (208, 230, 380, 460 VAC). Multiple compressors and refrigerant circuits are incorporated to provide minimal power consumption versus load demands, as well as redundancy throughout the system. Each condensing unit is monitored and protected with freeze controls, high-limit switches, high and low aquastats, times, and onboard fuses or breakers.

The MTS is a high-capacity modular chiller unit for large pleasure yachts and commercial vessels. Optional electric heaters can provide air conditioned comfort onboard year round.

Marine Air MCG Low-Profile Modular Chillers are designed for locations onboard where height is an obstacle. At 18.25"/464 mm (3 to 6 ton) and 25.2"/640 mm (12.5 and 15 ton) tall, MCG-LP modules are much shorter than other chillers in the same capacity range, but no shorter on high performance and reliability.

MCG-LP single modules are available in capacities from 36,000 (3 ton) to 180,000 (15 ton), and can be staged to achieve larger capacities. Up to six modules can be staged.

Rust-Free, Anti-Slosh Drain Pan With Quick Installation

Completely redesigned for easier installation and improved performance, Gold Series air handlers incorporate many innovative features, including an optional Breathe Easy™ air purifier.

A rust-free, anti-slosh, positive-flow drain pan quickly removes condensate water and a third drain hole can be employed to further increase rapid drainage. Each drain hole is reinforced and has an external stop to prevent over tightening of the screw-in hose barb.

To better accommodate a variety of installation situations, each drain hole can accept either a straight hose barb or a 90-degree hose barb. In addition, the vibration-isolation mounting hardware can be attached at a variety of locations around the perimeter of the drain pan.

Gold Series AU-HV air handlers feature high-velocity blowers, available in left- or right-oriented versions. Ultra-quiet "WhisperCool" DC blowers (AU-DC models) are available. The rotatable blower ring can be positioned easily by adjusting a single screw, and can even blow directly downward (best achieved with the right-oriented version).

The blower inlet adapter is made of a high-temperature resin to easily withstand the heat generated by the optional internal electric heating element. Gold Series air handlers provide easy access to the manual heater-overload safety switch, which is accessible without disassembling the unit.

Choose the integrated Breathe Easy air purifier option for cleaner, healthier air right from the blower. Positioned directly in the airstream, the award-winning Breathe Easy uses ultraviolet (UV) light and photocatalytic nano-mesh technology to improve air quality without producing any ozone. Independent testing proved that the Breathe Easy technology is up to 99.9% effective in eliminating odors, fumes, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), mold spores, bacteria and viruses.

The ABL Series is an improved low-profile, draw-through chilled water air handler.

Insulating foam covers the condensate pan, blower housing, shroud, and coil end cover to reduce noise and secondary condensation. The condensate pan also has an anti-slosh, anti-fungal foam lining.

ABL air handlers are an excellent choice for over-head applications where height is limited. Replaces CBLB models.

All models available in 50Hz.

AT-MU air handlers are designed for use in fresh air make-up (FAMU) systems where outside air is drawn in by the air handler, cooled, dehumidified, and reheated to room temperature, and then ducted to various areas of the vessel.

Narrow Depth With Separate Boiler Connections

The ATV is a chilled water air handler designed for applications where very little depth is available. In the "4-pipe" configuration there are two separate sets of valves and heat exchangers for cooling and for heating. Two pipes connect to the chiller system to provide cooling, and two pipes connect to an auxiliary heat source, such as a boiler, to provide heating.

Tall and slim, ATV air handlers make previously unusable areas suitable for blower installation. Showcasing a unique vertical layout, the ATV series has the coil low and the blower above. Because of its minimal depth, it can be hidden in side areas instead of in places above or below, where most air handlers go.

AT-DC Air Handler
This new air handler eliminates "motor hum" which occur from traditional air conditioning blowers at very low speeds. Incoming alternating current is converted to drive a high-efficiency, brushless DC fan motor.
